FAQ

Learn more about Lux Velvet's Membership with these Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to us at info@luxvelvet.com

Does sex happen at private parties?

For some, yes. For others, they enjoy the atmosphere and get to wear fun outfits. Everyone gets to enjoy themselves at their own pace. No play is required to attend these parties.

Do you require a photo or any documentation to sign-up as a member?

We do not require photo ID or any kind of medical documentation. This is to protect the identity of our members. We do require you to sign a legally-binding waiver which acts as a code of conduct and privacy contract. You will have to provide your full legal name, email and birthday.

What is your privacy policy for members?

We value privacy for our members by not requiring photos and using secure software for our waivers and membership systems. We also have an in-depth privacy section in our waiver detailing that “outing” other members will result in your membership being canceled with no refund and the potential for legal ramifications.

Can I invite a partner(s) who is not a member to a play party if I am a member?

No, only members can come to play parties. This helps make sure everyone is protected, knows the rules and our events are legal.

What is the age range of your group?

Our average age range is between 30- 50, however we are not strict about age (+19), rather you’ll notice that it is all about the energy and enthusiasm that you bring rather than a number.

Is your group LGBTQ+ inclusive?

Yes, as queer women ourselves, it is incredibly important to us that everyone feels welcomed and included. We have a strict no discrimination policy for all of our events and membership.

Do I have to come to a Mixer in order to get vetted?

While we do online vetting and there are opportunities to be vetted without coming to a Mixer (for those who live out-of-town), we strongly recommend that you come to a Mixer. If you are not experienced in the lifestyle and you’ve never been to a mixer, you will not be accepted into our membership.

Do I have to pay for tickets as well as a membership?

Yes, the membership cost is $65 for the year and each event has a separate cost ranging from $45- +$65.

What does vetting mean?

Vetting is simply a conversation. There’s no quizzes or tests. We want to know why you want to join, if you have experience in the lifestyle and we will go through our core rules and values. We standardize the vetting process so it is fair and everyone is on the same page for our parties.

Does it cost anything to get vetted?

No, it does not cost anything to get vetted. We do not charge for this meeting.

Can I get vetted with my partner(s)?

Yes, absolutely more than one person can be vetted at a time. Please note that all memberships are individual and there is a possibility based on the vetting that some people in the call may be approved, while others are not. Also please make sure you feel comfortable answering sensitive questions with the people you are vetting beside.

What happens if I book a vetting meeting and miss it?

Life happens and if you have a legitimate reason for missing the meeting then we will simply rebook, free of charge. However, if you fail to notify us that you won’t be joining and it is not for a reasonable reason (i.e. “I forgot”) then you may not get a rebooked session until after a play party as it will be based on our availability.
